The BLS for Healthcare Providers course covers core material such as adult and
pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body
airway obstruction and automated external defibrillation. This course is for healthcare
providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses,
respiratory therapists, and lifeguards who must have a credential (card) documenting
successful completion of a Healthcare Provider CPR course.

The Heartsaver CPR course teaches CPR and relief of choking in adults and children
(infant optional) and use of barrier devices for all ages. This course is designed for
those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency or for those people
interested in learning CPR techniques.

first few minutes until professional help arrives. This course is for those who have a
duty to respond to a first-aid or cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or
regulatory requirements or for those people interested in how to perform first-aid.
Course content includes general principles, medical emergencies, injury emergencies
and environmental emergencies.

The American Heart Association CPR Instructor course is a two day course. Day one will
be completed at home using the AHA CORE DVD provided to you. This program covers
information on teaching and will take most of the day to complete. Once complete you will
print out a completion certificate. This certificate must be brought to class with you. In
addition, participants must provide a copy of their current CPR for Healthcare Provider
card and a sponsorship letter from either the organization they will teach for or another
instructor they will be teaching with. Day two will be held at LifeSavers, Inc. Day two will
cover information such as course organization, policies of both the AHA and LifeSavers,
administration of a course, advertising, equipment cleaning, changes in CPR and why they
occur, skills testing, a written test and more.
